Some decks reach a point where patching just isn't worth it anymore. The old structure here was worn down - boards lifting, railing falling apart, the whole thing was a safety concern. At that stage, a full tear-out and rebuild is the only move that actually makes sense long-term.

We pulled everything out and started fresh. The new deck is framed up solid and surfaced with 2x6 pressure-treated boards laid tight and clean. That extra board width gives you a more substantial, sturdy feel underfoot - it's one of those details you notice right away when you step onto a well-built deck.

The railing system is where the look really comes together. We used black aluminum balusters paired with a pressure-treated wood frame. That combo is sharp - the contrast between the fresh lumber and the dark metal gives it a clean, modern feel without trying too hard. And aluminum balusters hold up without rusting or needing constant maintenance.

The steps were rebuilt as part of the job too, giving the whole deck a finished, intentional look from every angle. What started as a hazard is now a solid outdoor space the homeowner can actually use and enjoy. That's exactly the kind of outcome we're after on every deck replacement we do.

A deck in bad shape isn't just an eyesore - it's a liability. When the bones are gone, you're better off doing it right than throwing money at repairs that won't hold. A proper rebuild pays off in safety, usability, and how your backyard looks and feels day to day.
