Most siding doesn't fail all at once. It fades, warps, and starts pulling away from the wall in spots. You patch it here and there, but eventually patching stops making sense. That's where this home was - the old siding had run its course, and it was time to do the job right.

We stripped everything off down to the sheathing. Before a single piece of new siding went up, we wrapped the wall with a quality house wrap barrier. That layer matters more than most people realize - it's what keeps moisture from sneaking behind the siding and into the wall cavity where it can cause real damage over time.

Then came the Hardie board. James Hardie fiber cement is a different animal compared to standard vinyl or wood siding. It holds paint longer, it doesn't rot, and it stands up to impacts and weather in a way that traditional materials simply can't. For a home that needs to look good and hold up for decades, it's hard to beat.

The finished wall tells the whole story. Clean lines, consistent exposure on every course, and tight seams at the corners and trim. It's the kind of work that looks simple from the street - and that's the point. When siding is installed correctly, it just looks right. No waviness, no gaps, no shortcuts showing through.

If your exterior is starting to show its age - bubbling paint, soft spots, or siding that's visibly separating - Hardie board replacement is worth a serious look. It's not just a cosmetic fix. It's protection for the structure underneath.
